Most restaurants and food companies are trying to get healthier. Look at Pepsi. They’re designing their own specially-engineered salt to keep their food tasting good while cutting down on salt in said products. They’re committed to improving America’s health. Not KFC. While everyone else is trying their best to make life healthier, KFC is making everyone’s health worse with the Double Down sandwich.
If you haven’t heard, the Double Down is two pieces of chicken surrounding lots of cheese, bacon, and a mayo-based sauce. That’s right, they’ve turned fried chicken into bread. I mean, I’m from the South, so I love the taste of grease in my food, but even my stomach is turned by the idea of this sandwich. It’s the sort of thing that nobody, no matter how fat, could handle.
As a publicity stunt, the Double Down is a great idea. As an actual food item? No thank you. This is worse-looking than the KFC Famous Bowl (which was already an achievement in putting publicity over taste and food content). I could force myself to try the Bowl, but this bad boy is too much, even for me. Well played, Col. Sanders.
