It’s part gimmick, part awesome idea. Inspired by a wave of urban farmers who have taken to growing crops in the heart of Tokyo and other urban environments, lingerie manufacturer Triumph International has launched an unusual piece of clothing that’s part bra, part potted plant. They’re calling it the Grow-Your-Own-Rice bra, and it’s the only B cup that lifts, separates, and cultivates all at the same time!
It’s actually an ingenious little system. The bra cups, made of recycled plastic, contain a little bit of soil and the planted seedlings. The pot-bra is watered by the belt, which doubles as an irrigation system and water storage tank. It also comes with gardening gloves as a standard accessory. Matching aprons are available.
You have to admit, the Japanese know how to market their products, and Triumph International is no exception. I just wonder, how big do the plots get? Are there bras for rice and bras for barley and wheat? Do bigger bras feature more planting area? Can you grow melons in your bra? These seem like important questions to ask before you dedicate your, err, heart to farming.
