When BBC Radio 2 morning presenter Chris Evans grew his show’s morning audience to a staggering 9.5 million people, he wanted to get a present for the person responsible. Since the person responsible was himself, he knew exactly what he wanted. Evans is a collector of classic Ferraris (when you’ve got a £45 million pound fortune, you can do that), so what he wanted was the crown jewel of Ferraris, a Ferrari 250 GTO. It’s one of the fastest and rarest cars ever made, and Evans was able to buy himself one for a mere £12 million pounds (or $17-20 million dollars US).
Now, Evans didn’t just plop down the cash for this. He actually had to sell three other Ferraris from his collection to afford the 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO, originally designed for racing. Ferrari only made 36 of the 250 GTOs between 1962 and 1964. Amazingly, this car isn’t going to sit in some Jay Leno-like car museum; Evans plans on driving his new multi-million-dollar investment!
Good for you, dude! If you got it, it’s shameful NOT to drive it like you stole it!
