Like anyone who has ever worked in the customer service industry, I could’ve written a book of complaints about the stupid things people do when they’re put in a position of power over another. Granted, I was never a member of wait staff, but that’s because I know I’d have probably been fired for assaulting a customer the first time they did something too aggressively irritating. Ashley Johnson, in some ways, is a lot better than I am because she was able to wait and hold her complaints until she got home after a long day at Brixx Pizza in Charlotte, North Carolina. Unfortunately, she vented on Facebook and got fired for it.
Brixx Pizza co-owner Jeff Van Dyke and the company are very proactive when it comes to their company image. When Ashley complained about some unnamed customers (who held a table for three hours, made her stay an hour past quitting time, and only tipped her $5), word got back to managers and she was fined. The company has policies against speaking ill of customers and making the company look bad on social networking sites.
Ashley kind of did both, but really… isn’t she justified in being mad? I mean, those customers were awful. They stayed three hours and only left a $5 tip? People like that should have their legs broken.
