When it comes to cooking, there is an eternal debate: butter or margarine? If given the choice, I say butter, as it has a better taste and cooks differently than the lower-fat, higher health option. But if something is made with margarine, I don’t get violent about it, unlike a pair of Washington state siblings. The 21-year-old male approached the 17-year-old female as she was making some macaroni and cheese and asked if it was butter or margarine in the mixture. The two started arguing over which was better, then the female attempted to cut the male’s throat with a serrated barbecue spatula!
That’s a bitter butter battle, if I’ve ever seen one! Unfortunately, I can’t tell you who was on what side, as the 17-year-old didn’t show up for court to plead the case for rich, creamery butter. Or more likely, margarine; I figured the pro-butter person would be the one protesting loudly for real dairy while the margarine side wouldn’t be put out by the presence of true flavor in their food.
