The Baskin-Robbins ice cream chain offers 31 flavors. That’s all they offer at one time, too, so when it’s time to change things up a little, something’s gotta go. To celebrate a proper National Ice Cream Day this Sunday (and to mark the company’s 65th anniversary), the company is shelving five of its flavors: Caramel Praline Cheesecake, Campfire S’mores, Apple Pie a La Mode, Superfudge Truffle, and (shockingly) French Vanilla. French Vanilla has been offered by the company since 1945!
The other flavors? I could care less about. French Vanilla, one of my favorite all-time flavors of ice cream or anything else? That’s one that’ll be missed. Not that I eat Baskin-Robbins, or that I even know where one is located off the top of my head, but still! Getting rid of French Vanilla is like getting rid of hot fudge or crushed peanuts! I know the company has to shake things up and get with the times, so I don’t mind the weirder flavors of ice cream leaving, but to tamper with a classic is just wrong!
