There’s a war on between the east and west. I’m not talking about physical wars, like in Iraq or Afghanistan, but ideological wars. For example, Islamic immigrants are spreading across Europe as we speak, leading to a lot of culture clash as their particular religious belief systems run into traditional European laissez-fair. It’s not just about culture, it’s also about power. In a bid to steal control of time (!!!) from England, Mecca has constructed a gigantic clock that makes Big Ben look like Medium Earl! Let’s call the new mega-clock Giant Ali.
The clock features more LED lights than the Times Square New Years Eve ball. It stands a staggering 1983 feet tall. Each of the clock’s four faces is 151 feet in diameter. Helpfully, the massive clock also features flashing green and white diodes when it’s time for Muslims to go to prayer, and it features the Arabic slogan “In the Name of Allah” on the clock faces.
Well, if they succeed, nobody will lose track of Mecca again, but odds are strongly not in their favor, as Greenwich has been the Mean Time since 1886, and there’s no real reason needed to change from that.
