There’s a lot of stuff you just have to see to believe. It may sound crazy, and it is kind of crazy, but John Myers from Bloomfield, New Jersey, turned out to be his own worst enemy and his own best friend. While visiting beautiful Madison, Wisconsin, for a friend’s wedding, he put his bag down and took a picture with his family in front of Wisconsin’s state capital. That was a mistake; while his bag was sitting off in the back, John was robbed. However, when he took a look at the family photo, he saw that the thief had been caught in the background of the photo!
“I caught the picture but I was even more amazed they managed to find the person since all they had to go on was his clothing — his face wasn’t in the picture,” Myers said of the capital police. “I fully expected to have them tell us to just fill a report or (to) tell us there wasn’t much they could do, but (they) responded immediately and because they did, they were able to catch (a suspect).”
The sticky-fingered criminal, a homeless man named Glenn R. Lambright, was released on signature bond. As for Myers, he’s learned a lesson. “Looking back now it wasn’t a good idea to leave my bag so far away, but I just wasn’t thinking of it at the time.”
