There’s nothing more stressful than a parking ticket. Usually, it’s the icing on top of a slice of “my day has been terrible” cake. However, city officials in Cambridge, Massachusetts, have some helpful advice for you. If you receive a parking ticket in Cambridge, try some yoga stretches. In Cambridge, there are some simple yoga positions printed on the back of every parking ticket to help enhance your calm.
The yoga parking tickets are the idea of Cambridge’s artist-in-residence, Daniel Peltz. It’s part of an unusual public art project, as the city of Cambridge hands out 340,000 parking tickets per year. As city transportation chief Susan Clippinger says the purpose of the project is to “debunk the idea that all parking tickets are a hostile action.”
Unfortunately, the parking ticket calming advice doesn’t work for everyone. As Cambridge resident Nyunho Noh said when paying his $25 ticket, “It’s not working.” I’d imagine calming advice might only make the rage stronger.
