Edward Pimentel might not have been the winner of the World Karaoke Championships. That honor belonged to two Fins, Sam Moudden in the men’s division and Maria Saarimaa-Ylitalo in the women’s division. However, Pimentel, an American phone engineer, still managed to do all right for himself. As the winner of the “audience favorite” award, Pimentel won a million dumplings at the World Karaoke Championships 2010, held in Moscow, Russia.
So, how long does a million dumplings last? Well, if Pimentel eats 100 dumplings a day, he won’t run out of dumplings for 27 years. I’m not sure whether to congratulate him or feel bad for him! A million dumplings would be a terrible prize made even worse if you don’t like dumplings (and I am not a dumpling fan). Maybe he can cash in some dumplings and parlay this win into an appearance on American Idol or a sing-along with Joe Cocker, since both men love covering R&B standards.
