I actually watched some goofy TV game show for the first time where contestants tried to recall the lyrics to popular songs with $$$ on the line. The top prize was a million bucks, but I’m guessing no one is ever going to grab that brass ring.
It was like watching drunks in a bar singing karaoke with the monitor showing the lyrics going on the blink occasionally and the “singers” coming up with their own words to fit the tune. Except this time it wasn’t just a few of your buddies razzing you about messing up the song. An entire national viewing audience can mock you for not knowing all the words to Stevie Wonder’s Superstition. (Which by the way, some of the lines in that song were a bit off the wall and I’d never realized it before.)
Why have I given you more scary insight into my television habits?
So I could lead up to this video clip.
It’s a hysterical interpretation of Joe Cocker with visual aids to make things even more clear. Sharon Cobb first brought this one to our attention.
Once you’ve had a taste of Joe, you’ll want to see videos of John Belushi doing his version of Cocker, so go here.
