While Agents of SHIELD never held my interest, I loved Marvel’s Agent Carter series. I loved it enough that I’m completely on board with a street-level Marvel television series that captures the company’s ground-based heroes. After all, there’s a lot of crime out there, and there’s a lot of crime that Thor, Iron Man, and so on can’t handle. That’s when Marvel turns to its grittier urban heroes. For example, here’s the newest trailer for the Netflix/Marvel team-up Marvel’s Daredevil.
Admittedly, the idea of a good Daredevil story on television is one I really like, particularly if Netflix allows Marvel to go a little bit darker and get into some of the more violent and sad aspects of the character. Perhaps not, but the cast they do have on board is stellar. Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin?! Scott Glenn as Stick, Daredevil’s mentor?! That’s just stellar stuff, and provided Charlie Cox can hold up his end of the bargain as Matt Murdock, this is going to be great stuff. From what little we’ve seen so far, I think he’s got it.
If you’ll excuse me, I’ll be angling to get the day off on April 10 to watch all of Marvel’s Daredevil in a single go.
