The slogan of GE is “We bring good things to life.” The new slogan of Sears must be “We bring dead things to life.” Why do I say this? Well, in case you haven’t noticed, in the spirit of Halloween, Sears has debuted a new zombie-centric Sears website for the discriminating, brain-hungry shopper. It’s offered in both Zombie English and Zombian, making it equal opportunity to undead corpses of all states of decomposition.
Yes, it’s just a Halloween prank, but it’s a GENIUS Halloween prank. It beats the usual costumes and bad puns, taking it to a whole new level with zombie models, zombie-centric goods, and even a Zombie Shopper Twitter feed. It’s rare that you see a huge company go all out with a Halloween special event, but here’s Sears, at the forefront of the undead buyer market. If you’re looking for the perfect gift for that eternal zombie marriage ceremony, then you know where to go.
Now, here’s hoping Sears gets a nod in the upcoming Walking Dead series for their awesome viral marketing campaign. I’d love to see some unity between our world and the world of the undead, just for fun’s sake. It’s not a requirement, mind you, but it’d be nice to see Sears get some extra love for this incredible dedication to holiday fun.
