There are some stories out there that I look at and decide, “Well, that’s weird, but it’s just too depressing for me to post.”  I’ve missed out on a lot of interesting things that way, but I do my best not to be a bummer.  However, this particular post is one that, when I read about the story, I didn’t run because it caused me too much pain to contemplate.  However, it’s so freaking weird that I have to go with it.  A Latvian billionaire named Alexander Kalnins was injured when he was stabbed in the genitals by a drunken cook on board his yacht after an argument.

That’s weird enough, but not so weird on its own.  However, the weird part is that police, when they answered the call, found the billionaire refusing treatment, saying the bloody stab wound in his groin was an old injury.  It took five cops to drag him to the hospital, where doctors had to tie him down in order to perform the things necessary to keep him from bleeding to death.

After the treatment, Kalnins ordered the police to release the man who stabbed him in the crotch.  That’s right, he had the guy who stabbed him let go, refusing to cooperate with the cops.  Those Eastern Europeans are mighty tough!
