When 20-year-old Cory Buckley broke into 70-year-old Jacqueline Cutright’s home in Akron, Ohio, he immediately demanded to know where she kept her drugs and money. Jacqueline, never one to be intimidated, responded, “Boy, did you break into the wrong house.” Despite her wit and humor, Buckley (who was dressed like a clown and wielding a knife) still robbed the 70-year-old woman while she sat on the toilet.
Talk about your weird robberies! Buckley broke into a basement window in Cutright’s home on Saturday night, and confronted the 70-year-old while she was at her most vulnerable: on the potty. He took $28 dollars in cash and about $1000 in costume jewelery, before stealing Cutright’s Ford Escort and driving away. The scary clown later crashed the car, crawled out the broken window, and confessed to the police about his actions.
“I thought about doing ninja stuff to him,” Cutright said, “but I thought, ‘No, he’s faster than I am.’ So, I more or less just sat there on the lid.” During the 2-hour ransacking of her home, Cutright had one fear: that the robber would take a cherished silver heirloom bracelet she was given by a friend. “The bracelet said, ‘A mother holds her children’s hands for a while but their hearts forever,’ which I think is lovely, and when he read that he gave it back to me. That’s when I thought, ‘This man’s not going to hurt me.'”
