Today’s the big day. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade starts at 9 AM Eastern time in New York. Tomorrow, the Black Friday sales frenzy begins (if it hasn’t started already with Thanksgiving Day sales). Pretty soon, there’ll be delicious food, fun, and family for me, and I hope for you guys too.
I don’t often wax philosophical here, since I try to keep it light and fun. Still, I’m thankful. I’ve got a great life, I’ve got a job and some part-time jobs, I get paid to write and see movies, and generally I’ve got my stuff together. I should be a lot more grateful than I am most of the time, but I’m working on it. Of all the things I’m thankful for, I’m thankful for you PopFi readers.
Whenever I log into the site and see that someone’s linked to something I’ve written here, the old heart swells like the proverbial Grinch that stole Christmas. When I see tweets and retweets and Facebook shares and all that stuff, it makes me happy to know I’m banging out little stories and digging up little links that make you guys happy. Every little thing you do to promote the site is so very much appreciated. This year is shaping up to be the best year in PopFi’s history, and definitely the best year since I took over the care and feeding of this particular website from Adams, Steph, Trace, and AJ. I’ve worked my butt off, and it’s rewarding to see that it wasn’t in vain.
Thank you all so much. I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving, and a generally safe and healthy holiday season. We’ll resume regular programming on Monday, after I get my bargain on at all those Black Friday sales.
