It’s taken the majority of the season, but the National Football League has finally come to a decision on the Brett Favre case.  Favre, who is alleged to have sexually harassed former Jets employee and Playboy centerfold Jenn Sterger, was the subject of a months-long investigation regarding allegations of unwanted sext messages, pictures, and other gross things that might have violated the NFL’s personal conduct policy throughout the 2008 season.  Brett Favre has been fined $50,000 by the NFL for his refusal to cooperate fully with the investigation regarding Jenn Sterger’s accusations.

“Every member of every club’s staff should be able to work in an environment free of harassment or hostility, and one in which every employee is valued, respected, and given a full opportunity to contribute to the goals of the club and the NFL,” said NFL commissioner Roger “The Ginger Hammer” Goodell.  “Our new training program on workplace conduct will help all of us to promote the right kind of environment for all employees and I intend to dedicate the fine I have imposed on Favre to help fund that training program.”

Favre spent one season with the Jets before fleeing to the Minnesota Vikings.  Favre’s Iron Man streak recently came to an end, and his career appears to be next thanks to this scandal.  As for Sterger, she left the Jets, contributed to ESPN and Sports Illustrated, and her sports-based television show on Versus, The Daily Line, was cancelled in November.
