Troubled actor Charlie Sheen, who just can’t seem to stay away from drugs and prostitutes, is once again in the news for his erratic behavior and its long-term effects on his health. Sheen, who was recently seen partying at his house with five women of ill repute, was rushed from his Los Angeles Home to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center via ambulance due to severe abdominal pain. As it turns out, Charlie Sheen’s most recent excuse for a hospitalization is due to a hiatal hernia, a condition in which the stomach bulges out into the diaphragm and causes severe acid reflux. Hiatal hernias can be caused by stress, heredity, smoking, and drug use, among other causes. In Charlie’s case, it’s probably all of the above.
“He has had a history of having this type of hernia, and the person who made the 911 call said he had severe stomach pains and said it was from a hernia condition,” said a Sheen spokesman, who added, “I have no firsthand knowledge of any of this.”
Charlie Sheen has recently been displaying erratic behavior, including going on weekend-long benders with porn stars in Vegas and other hospitalizations. Still, this most recent hospitalization was worrisome enough that his famous father Martin Sheen, mother Janet Templeton, and ex-wife Denise Richards all showed up to check on him. I’d imagine they’re more worried about Charlie than anyone else.
