Car designers have seen the future, and apparently, the future is pretty weird.  When it comes to the car of tomorrow, designers are actively working to figure out just what the car of the future should look like.  Apparently, this year’s car trend is to mash up two designs that don’t go together.  For an example, see the above Ferrari FF, which looks like a Ferrari married to a station wagon.  Here are five weird new car designs that are being released in 2011.

Interestingly enough, the Ferrari FF is common enough in Europe that they even have a name for this type of mash-up between a sports car and a station wagon.  This car design is called a shooting brake.  As for the other cars?  They kind of look like car modders gone mad, don’t they?  You’ve got a Scion mashed up with a smart car, a crosscabriolet convertible SUV, and even a SUV/coupe mash-up.
