Sing like Chef, get women. Got it?
When it comes to picking up a member of the opposite sex, the important thing is to make an impression. According to researchers at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, there’s are many ways to make a good impression, but the one that women remember best? A nice, deep voice. On memory studies, women indicated a preference for a low pitch male voice and remembered a list of objects spoken more accurately when they were given by the deeper voice.
“Our findings demonstrate that women’s memory is enhanced by lower pitch male voices, compared with the less attractive raised pitch male voices,” said Dr. David Smith, the lead researcher on the study which will appear in the journal Memory and Cognition. “Our experiments indicate for the first time that signals from the opposite sex that are important for mate choice also affect accuracy in women’s memory.”
So remember, guys, think Isaac Hayes, not Tiny Tim. Even if you can’t hit Chef levels of lowness, maybe you can imitate the Old Spice Guy and just bring it down enough to be memorable.
