Were you affected by the BlackBerry worldwide outages that happened last week? Well, if you were, or if you’re just a BlackBerry subscriber, Research In Motion has a deal for you. RIM is giving away $100 worth of free apps from BlackBerry App World to subscribers affected by recent service issues. Call it good customer service or call it a bribe to reward continued customers; either way, free apps are free apps.
“Our global network supports the communications needs of more than 70 million customers,” said RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis in a press release. “We truly appreciate and value our relationship with our customers. We’ve worked hard to earn their trust over the past 12 years, and we’re committed to providing the high standard of reliability they expect, today and in the future.”
The free apps will be available until December 31, 2011. The apps include Bejeweled and The Sims 3 from Electronic Arts, among other things, starting on Wednesday, October 19, 2011. RIM’s enterprise customers will also get a free month of customer support. Guess that’ll make up for missing a few days’ worth of BlackBerry messages, eh Saudi Arabia?
