Batman and Superman aren’t the only men with secret double identities. You can add Alabama resident and former state director of economic and community affairs Bill Johnson to the list of men who live a double life.
Unlike the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel fighting crime, Johnson was using his other persona to donate sperm to lesbian couples in New Zealand. The candidate for Alabama governor in 2010 used an alias to offer his body fluids to women eager to become impregnated.
Johnson was in New Zealand to help with recovery efforts following the devastating earthquake that struck Christchurch earlier this year. In addition to donating his time, the sperm donor also shook things up down under, impregnating three of the nine lesbians who received his donations. His choice to seek out lesbians is curious since part of his campaign to represent the Republican party in the race for governor was a platform against gay marriage.
Kathy Johnson, wife of the philandering philanthropist, was unaware that her husband had been offering his services and declared it a “really, really difficult time” for her family. No doubt about that.
Nobel Prize winner Robert G. Edwards, who won the award for inventing the In-Vitro Fertilization process, probably never saw this type of predicament in the future when he came up with the procedure.
