In the song “Love Shack,” the B-52s sing about having a Chrysler as big as a whale. Well, in Karachi, Pakistan, fishermen have recently reeled in a fish that’s as big as a whale. The fish is known as a whaleshark or giant whaleshark, and it lives up to its name as pictures prove. Pakistani fishermen reeled in a 40-foot-long dead whaleshark in the Arabian Sea. The Daily Mail has a whole bunch of awesome pictures of the aforementioned whaleshark. There’s also video of the extraction, seen below.

The beast, which weighs a staggering 8 tons, was dragged 90 miles back to shore by the fishermen. There were two cranes waiting to haul it out of the water, but when they proved unable to haul the fish to shore, a third crane had to be brought in to bring the monstrous fish to land. The shark was spotted floating in the sea 10 days ago.
The bidding war for the massive meal has already begun. Whalesharks, which can live to be up to 70 years old, have mouths that are up to 5 feet wide and contain up to 350 rows of teeth. While large, whalesharks are not dangerous to humans and have even allowed humans to take a ride on their fins.
