George H. W. Bush and Patrick, fighting cancer.

Think of President George Bush.  No, not 43, 41.  George Herbert Walker Bush.  What do you think of?  An older guy, gray hair, talking about how he hates Brussels sprouts or how we should read his lips about a raise in taxes.  Well, George H. W. Bush has a brand new look, and it’s equal parts scary and awesome.  Former US President George H. W. Bush has shaved his head to support cancer awareness.

The sick person isn’t an adult friend of his, like when Kellie Pickler shaved her head, it’s for a child.  Specifically, a young boy named Patrick, who is the son of one of H.W.’s Secret Service agents.  The two-year-old boy is battling leukemia.  George Bush the Senior, when he saw his security detail had all gone bald overnight, asked around and found out what the cause was, and joined in.  President Bush and wive Barbara lost their second child, Robin, to leukemia when he was only 4 years old, so it’s obviously a cause close to the former President’s heart.

The 89-year-old and his security detail have put together a website, Patrick’s Pals, to help the family raise money for treatment.
