Look, it’s Godzilla! Flee in terror!
It’s a big gamble, but one that just may pay off for Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures. That’s the two companies who have the rights to Toho’s famous kaiju, Godzilla. He hasn’t been seen in the United States since Godzilla 2000 was released as a dubbed version in the United States, so it’s time for people to get reacquainted with one of cinema’s most famous monsters and a pop culture icon. The Godzilla trailer is alive and currently rampaging on YouTube. See it below in all its splendor!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjKO10hKtYwGodzilla is directed by Scottish director Gareth Edwards (Monsters) from a script written by Frank Darabont, Max Borenstein, and David Callaham. The film will be released on May 16, 2014. It stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranson, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe, Juliette Binochet, and a bunch of scared, scream extras fleeing from a giant CGI monster. Not much has been released about the plot, but I imagine Godzilla gets awakened and comes to shore to wreck the place.
Really, do you need more than that?
