There’s no such thing as too much choice. Sure, in some cases, you might not want all the choices you get, but when it comes to paying for something like, say, a cable channel, then options are always good. In the wake of HBO’s announcement of a stand-alone streaming service, Showtime immediately jumped on board, too, with a $10.99-per-month Showtime Anytime service. However, if you’re a cord-cutter or you have a Hulu subscription, prepare to save a little money. Hulu is going to be offering a Showtime subscription for $8.99.
Of course, you have to already be a Hulu subscriber, but if you don’t have cable, there’s a lot of great reasons to subscribe to Hulu. Start with the Criterion Collection then work your way down to Tommy Wiseau’s mangum opus The Neighbors. That’s a great reason to have Hulu Plus by itself, and you may as well double up and get both Hulu Plus and Showtime for $17 per month. Showtime offers both Emmy-winning fare and crowd pleasers like Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex, so it’ll be a great addition to Hulu’s really stacked line-up.
The option to add Showtime isn’t there yet, but it will be added before the beginning of Showtime’s newest season of programming July 12.
