When it comes to their uniforms, the NFL takes everything seriously. The only official uniforms can be made by Nike. Shoes have to be a certain color. Everything is legislated and controlled, and when you see a player do something out of the ordinary, you can expect that player will find trouble. However, one player was able to find a loophole. Last season, James Jones wore a hoodie under his football uniform and shoulder pads. Since Jones is a Green Bay Packer, it makes sense that he’d want as much warmth as he could during those games, but the NFL has decided that James Jones, and the rest of the NFL, will have to have cold necks.
The NFL has banned the wearing of hoodies under uniforms. Apparently, since James Jones’ hood blocked his name plate, that made it against NFL rules. Never mind the fact that player hair blocks name plates all the time, but apparently the wearing of an official licensed piece of NFL gear under the uniform is forbidden. But hey, the best way to break the rules is to find one that’s not written down, then do that thing.
