Vampires to the left of me. Vampires to the right of me. Vampires right in front of me. You can’t turn on the television or buy a movie ticket without the bloodsuckers showing up. It’s more than just a trend now. There are all types of vamps out there. The dreamy, swoon-inducing, non-threatening teen version from Twilight (and the related hand model that stalk fans and the reality show surrounding Twilight town Forks). The scary sexy killers of True Blood. And of course we still have the cartoon version selling cereal as Count Chocula.
Now Sony is bringing the world an animated 3D version of the O+ swilling Dracula. The company that brought you Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs has hired the former Waterboy to play Dracula in a movie they’ve entitled Hotel Transylvania.
Hollywood funny guy Adam Sandler, who already dressed up like Dracula once for a scene from I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, will voice the Count who takes his vamp family to the hotel where monsters of all types recreate and relax. The hotel is THE place to be for the likes of Frankenstein, the Mummy and werewolves. David Spade, Cee Lo Green and Kevin James are just a few of the actors who have been aligned with this film.
Entertainment Weekly has more details about Hotel Transylvania, which is set to hit the screens and pop off of them in 3D form in September of 2012.
However, there’s no news on whether Sandler will pen or perform a theme song for the movie as he did in his first foray into animation, Eight Crazy Nights.
