Shopping is a full-time pursuit these days. Everyone’s looking for the best bargains, and nobody’s willing to compromise. It started with Black Friday, the first huge shopping day of the year, and now it’s spreading. Cyber Monday, Christmas in July sales, and now Amazon is turning a random Wednesday into a bargain hunter’s dream. Amazon is celebrating its 20th anniversary with Amazon Prime Day, a huge sale on all kinds of great products.
Newsday has a few special shared deals, just in case you want to decide if you want to get online on Wednesday at midnight for something special. The only catch is, to have Prime Day deals, you have to be an Amazon Prime customer. Thankfully, I already subscribe to Prime and enjoy my streaming television, movies, and music, but if you’re not a Prime person, Amazon always has free 30-day trials available for interested parties.
Not to be outdone, Walmart continues their aggressive stance towards Amazon by offering an online sale of their own on July 15. Walmart’s huge online sale requires no signing up, no free trial, just deals for everyone. Walmart has lowered the amount of purchase for free shipping from $50 to $35, have rolled back prices on 2000 products, and will have so-called “atomic deals” akin to Amazon’s lightning sales.
