Keith Green and Christine England had a fairly nontraditional wedding.  The bride didn’t wear white and the groom wasn’t in a tux.  Instead, both parties in the wedding wore green from head to toe.  Not green clothing, green paint, as the couple united in costume as ogre and ogress in a Shrek-themed wedding.

Usually it seems like the groom is the one with the crazy wedding idea.  You really think any woman wants to get married in Klingon latex, KISS makeup, or a Princess Leia outfit?  You’d think not (I had assumed not anyway), but the Shrek wedding was all the bride’s idea!  She’s quoted in the article as saying, “Every girl wants a fairytale wedding and I got one - with a bit of a twist.”

I have to admit, Mr. Green looks a lot like Shrek.  The makeup artist and whoever designed the costumes did an incredible job replicating the look of the unusual Dreamworks Animation characters, too.  I’ll never giggle at the idea of a toilet paper wedding dress or someone marrying the Berlin Wall again, because I’ve seen it all now.
