While working late at night, Reginald Ganther wanted a snack. When you’re up late and doing stressful work, there’s nothing quite as good for you as a big old bar of chocolate, so Reginald picked up a Hershey’s bar with a surprise inside. He wanted a chocolate bar with almonds, but instead he got a chocolate bar with almonds and a live worm.
To make things worse for Mr. Ganther, he didn’t discover the bugs until after he’d already eaten a piece. EWWWWW! There was a live worm, and evidence of dead bugs (in the form of a dried shell and other matter) in the same package. Hershey’s blames the store for improper storage (since they don’t make the official Almonds ‘n’ Maggots Crunch ‘n’ Squirm Bar yet) and have sent Reginald a bunch of coupons that he’ll no doubt NEVER use.
I have a cast-iron stomach, and just thinking about taking a bite of a chocolate-covered insect makes me want to hurl. Good thing I got a snack out of the vending machine BEFORE I saw this story, otherwise I would’ve passed on those peanut butter cookies.
