In an unusual update of the Shroud of Turin, Mary Jo Coady claims she’s been visited by the presence of Jesus, just a few short weeks before Christmas.  Mary Jo, from Methuen, Massashcusetts, was heading into her daughters’ room to do a little ironing when she saw something unusual on the bottom of her iron.  To some people, it’s just a burn mark, but to others it’s the image of Jesus Christ.

I have to admit, when I squint and look at that scorch, I don’t see Jesus.  I see something that looks more like the Mona Lisa, either in circuit form or coffee form.   Given the relatively high forehead and the way the face (or “face”) is looking to the viewer’s left with the hair cascading down the subject’s cheek, I can’t be the only one who sees Da Vinci’s famous lady rather than a religious figure, right?
