For a lot of people, finding candy with bugs in it is bad.  I mean, who’d want a maggot-infested chocolate bar?  Certainly not me!  However, for the company Hotlix, bug-filled candy is how they make their living.  Just look at this gallery of their offerings:  maggot-covered candy apples, chocolate-dipped scorpions, and lots of other horrible flavor combinations.  It’s amazing how frightening this idea is to me.

When I was in college, I lived with a Japanese student for a couple of years.  He is a huge fan of weird foods.  Bugs, scorpions, horse meat, whatever weird stuff you thought you could eat, he’d try it.  He’d regale me with tales of his foodstuffs, and I’d dutifully make grossed-out faces, because there’s no way I’m ever eating scorpion.  Well, okay, there’s one way I’d eat it, and that’s if I was starving.  Other than that?  No thank you.
