You can bend him and shape him, stretch him out any way you want! He’s 27-year-old Vijay Sharma, the Indian rubber man, and he’s looking to stretch and contort his way into the Guinness Book of World Records. He’s already a fixture in the Limca Book of Records, the Indian subcontinent version of the Guinness tome, so it’s not a stretch that he might be able to squeeze into the tight confines of Guinness. When he’s not working as an assistant at his father’s clothing shop, Vijay is training, up to four hours a day, to enhance his natural bendiness.
Sharma discovered his natural abilities when working at his martial arts skills. Inspired by stuntman and action movie star Jackie Chan, Sharma dedicated himself to being as fit and flexible as possible. Then, one day he saw a guy slip through the opening of a tennis racket in the Guinness Book of World Records and thought, “Hey, that looks like something I could do!”
It wasn’t, at least his first time through, but since then he’s worked on his skills and has developed a whole stunt show designed to show off his amazing flexibility. Here’s hoping it’s not as cringe-inducing as his tennis racket pose.
