“Help! I need somebody!” is a snipped from a popular Beatles song. Help! is the name of a popular Beatles tribute band, in which four guys grow shaggy comb-forwards and matching black suits and play covers of Beatles tunes. “Help!” is also what Ted “Theodore” Felicetti, who plays the Paul McCartney role in Help!, is shouting. He was arrested just outside of a San Diego, California, television studio where he and his bandmates were making an appearance, playing “I Am The Walrus.”
As it turns out, Felicetti had a warrant out for his arrest. He was booked on charges of drunk driving back in December 2008 but never showed up for his court date and had avoided capture ever since. Then he went on television, someone tipped off police as to where the band would be playing (and that he would be in the band), and police showed up during the taping with handcuffs. Officers were nice enough to let the band finish playing before they took Felicetti into custody. He’s being held on $180,000 dollars bond.
You know, when I’m on the run from the law, the first thing I want to do is to be on television as much as possible. Join a nationally known cover band, see the states, and elude justice at the same time! It’s not like bands routinely publicize where they’re going to be performing.
