Another week, another Muppet cover song. After having their way with Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody and Kansas’ Dust In The Wind, The Muppets and the mad folks over at Jim Henson Studios have gotten the band back together, blown the dust off the karaoke machine, and muppetized another classic song. This time, they’re doing Stand By Me, by Ben E. King, featuring a giant bunny-monster and his normal-sized friends. Just in time for Easter!
While that’s a great song, and the video is hilarious, it got me to thinking. I’d love to see a Muppet version of the MOVIE Stand By Me! Am I the only one here? They could get Wil Wheaton to play the role he did in the original, since he’s one of the only kids from the movie that’s still alive and still looks like himself. Maybe Corey Feldman can do a cameo.
