It’s a sign of the times. Italy, one of the most staunchly Catholic countries in Europe, has finally hopped onto the divorce bandwagon. With divorce rates rising on a yearly basis, and marriage rates falling, it’s clear that people are going to need help. That’s why Franco Zanetti organized Italy’s first divorce fair, held in Milan.
Despite the name, which invokes images of carnival rides and funnel cakes, the event is actually a serious workshop designed to help the recently married negotiate things like planning for life after marriage, anti-stalking guides, and finding that new look for the newly-single Italian on the move! Still, just because the event is serious, that doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun, says Zanetti. “Smiling is key to this fair, which also offers serious, practical advice for often dramatic situations,” he says.
Who wouldn’t be happy? You get to start a new life, mingle with other singles, and you might even get your divorce bought as a gift! Plus you know all the single ladies will be down at the divorce fair, and you’ll get your pick of the jilted, unhappy litter! Whoo-hoo!
