When you run AdSense on your blog or surf blogs that feature AdSense (like this one), you quickly find out that there are a lot of really strange ads that pop up. Sometimes, they advertise services for stuff I didn’t even know existed. However, the ads I most commonly see throughout the web are ads for dating services. Everyone seems to be looking for that match made in heaven, or to fulfill whatever weird kink they might have, and there’s definitely a dating service for you no matter what you’re looking for; you just might have to look somewhere not AdSense, as Google has banned ads for the cougar dating service CougarLife.com.
What’s so controversial about that? Well, Google’s banned Cougar Life, but they haven’t banned any of the sugar daddy ads (yet). It’s a blatant double standard, if you ask Cougar Life’s founder. “It’s just wrong all around,” Cougar Life founder Claudia Opdenkelder told The Times. “It’s age and gender discrimination. It’s just about older, successful, independent, strong women who enjoy someone that’s younger.”
I’m sure we haven’t heard the last from the cougar contingent. As recent buying trends have shown, cougars are becoming a powerful group with a lot of money to spend. Like the old saying goes: Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned by Google.
