Some disguises are just perfect. They cover your entire face, disguise your general shape, and make you really tough to identify. Then, there are all the other disguises that just don’t seem to work. While I thought the Sharpie face masks were bad, they’ve got nothing on the underwear bandit. Sharon Lain, a 51-year-old woman from Midwest City, Oklahoma, recently made off with the contents of a McDonald’s cash drawer with a pair of panties on her face.
Technically, it’s not panties, it’s a support undergarment/girdle type of thing called Spanx. Lain, who was recently fired from her job as a night manager at McDonald’s, said she needed the money to support her gambling problem. When she was arrested, she was also in possession of crystal meth, which no doubt is another problem she’s got to work hard stealing to support.
“She admitted to her role in the burglary,” said Midwest City police chief Brandon Clabes. “And we found the clothes she wore. This was a really bizarre disguise. I wasn’t sure what spanx was. I’ve never seen a woman with one on; now I’ve seen one on someone’s face.”
