It’s probably the longest standard Christmas season in the world. In the Phillippines, from San Juan to Manila, September means Christmas. Oddly enough, the Phillippine Christmas season generally runs 115 days, from September 1 until well after the actual day of Christmas. And I thought Christmas decorations in October was bad!
However, while their national Christmas runs a long time, there are several places in the UK where they’ve got that early start beaten. Try Christmas decorations going up in July at a pub, and British retailers starting Christmas in August. Still, there’s a difference between a random pub or retailer and the entire country. In the Philippines, the whole country starts Christmas before Labor Day. It’s just… I can’t even comprehend liking Christmas that much. Halloween yes, Christmas no. Christmas is quite possibly the most evil holiday on the calendar.
