Overnight, Google decided to pile some mystery to more mystery. Despite the fact people still don’t know what was going on with Tuesday’s follow-the-bouncing-ball animated logo, overnight the company has decided to add to the confusion by debuting another new logo. This time, Google’s logo is grayscale until you type something into the search box. With every letter typed, a letter of Google’s logo changes colors (as you can see in the screencap I took above). Weird, huh? It’s like some kind of confusion cupcake topped with mystery frosting!
Hopefully, today will be the day we’ll find out what’s going on with these logos, because today Google has a special event scheduled in San Francisco at the Bay Area Museum of Modern Art. It could be any number of things, from the HTML5 announcement I mentioned yesterday during my guesses to an official debut of Google’s music store to… who knows? Google will make a Doodle for any occasion, and lately they’ve been wanting to show off their programming skills!
