When Frances the hare was just a few days old, she had a life-changing accident. While out prancing through a field, she was run over by a plow and nearly turned into a Dead Animal Beer bottle. Frances is back in good health now, but there’s one small problem: Frances the hare is agoraphobic. That’s right, she’s a hare that’s too scared to go outside with her bunny brethren.
“I have tried to get her to go into a run in the garden outside but she gets spooked,” said John Naylor, a wildlife artist who took Frances in after she was hit by the farmer. “Maybe one day she will get over her fear. She has the run of the house and is very intelligent, she’s an amazing creature.”
Until she gets over her fear, Frances has the run of the Naylor household in Langtoft, East Yorkshire. She’s friends with John’s children Eve, age six, and George, age four. She even gets along well with the family terrier, Mouse! However, when it comes to sticking her nose outdoors, don’t expect this bunny to be brave.
