It took a long time, and it took quite a bit of the team, but finally the biggest trade of the NBA season has been accomplished.  Carmelo Anthony is leaving the Denver Nuggets and is going to the New York Knicks to play alongside his friend Amare Stoudamire and rock the historic Madison Square Garden as a member of New York’s beloved basketball franchise.  This is a trade that will literally redefine two franchises, as well as change a third franchise’s rotation as the Minnesota Timberwolves were also involved.

Here’s the big shakeup.  Denver sends forwards Carmelo Anthony, Renaldo Balkman, and Shelden Williams; as well as guards Chauncey Billups and Anthony Carter to New York.  The New York Knicks send forwards Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari; center Timofey Mozgov, and guard Raymond Felton to Denver.  The Nuggets also get the Knicks’ 2014 1st-round pick, the Warriors’ 2012 and 2013 2nd-round picks, and $3 million cash.  Also involved in this trade series are the Minnesota Timberwolves.  The T’wolves send guard Corey Brewer to New York in exchange for center Eddy Curry and forward Anthony Randolph.

That’s a spectacular 12 player trade, the second-largest in NBA history.  That’s not counting the cash or draft picks that got swapped around!  Once this new team learns to play together, we’ve got ourselves a team more than capable to challenge Miami Thrice for Eastern Conference dominance.
