Jesus is turning up in the strangest places these days.  For some reason, people are seeing him everywhere.  I don’t just mean in Christmas decorations (where he’s gunning down Santa Claus) but on the bottoms of irons and, in the latest sighting of Christ, a woman’s bruise.  As a diabetic, Florida resident Mary Massa is used to donating blood.  However, when she took off her bandages after her most recent doctor visit, she discovered that she had the face of Jesus in a bruise on her arm.  Mary says her family is teasing her by calling her “Our Lady of the Hematoma.”

I have to be honest, it doesn’t really look like Jesus to me.  It just looks like some nasty purple bruise.  Maybe if I squint I can convince myself I see a face, but it looks more like Freddie Mercury than the average iconographic image of Jesus.  Still, if it inspires the believers, more power to them.  I’m just kind of skeptical.  The only time I’ve ever seen anything in a bruise is when I got hit with a baseball and I went around with a bruise that read “Rawlings” for a week.
