Talk about your unusual hotel suites. The Park Hotel in Ottensheim, Austria, is a pretty nice hotel, but it’s also the pits. Specifically, sewer pits. While guests don’t stay in the sewer, the Park Hotel does have rooms that are available in converted sewer pipes that customers are raving over. It’s quite possibly the weirdest, least-romantic hotel experience possible, but it also looks incredibly cozy. Tell that to the platypus that got stuck in a sewer pipe and see if he agrees.
“We think people like the idea of something new. We try to keep things as private as possible,” said a hotel spokesman. “Guests book online and are given a pin that opens the room door but only on the day they’ve booked.” The only drawback to being found in a sewer pipe room? There’s no plumbing facilities; guests have to go to a shared sewer pipe for toileting and showering facilities.
If you ask me, not having plumbing in a sewer pipe hotel is pretty crappy.
