Earlier this month, the New York Times published an article about the dangerous world of blogging after two men died–one from a heart attack and one from a massive coronary.
Writer Matt Richtel chalked it up to stress from the demands of blogging. I am not at liberty to say whether or not I agree with this as I fear the head here at PopFi will withhold my stale bread crusts and glass of water this evening.
However, blogs like Neatorama and Bits & Pieces have taken to mocking the ridiculous notion that blogging could be dangerous in any way. The people at video blog Barely Political, the now infamous minds behind the “I Got a Crush on Obama” clip, have put together a mockumentary exposé of the seedy underbelly of the blogosphere.
The call it indentured blogitude and they say that blog is the new sweatshop. I’d like to throw some more ideas out there: Blog or die. The Blogshank Redemption. Please help me. Dead Blogger Walking.
Watch the video now and laugh heartily with us as we scoff at the idea that there could ever be danger involved with blogging (ha ha ha scoff scoff scoff):
