Roopa Gulati from the Good Food channel wanted some enduring image that would remind people that food can be fun. Fruit and vegetables are the core of a good diet, to be sure, but there’s nothing fun about asparagus or celery or melons. That’s why he turned to Carl Warner and a team of designers to craft a fruit-flavored London. It’s an incredible display of delicious beauty.
Most of London’s notable landmarks were designed by Christopher Wren after the great fire of 1666, and it is his vision that is depicted in the fresh fruit and veggies in most of the places recreated in edibles. There’s the Houses of Parliament depicted in green beans, runner beans, and baby sweet corn; St. Paul’s Cathedral rendered in baby leeks, various colors of courgette, and carrots; and even a depiction of Nelson’s column out of cucumber, courgette, and almond!
