It’s not often that we get to see the people behind the badges. I mean, we all know cops, and we all know of cops, but sometimes it’s hard to remember that behind the uniform is just a person, like you or me. Some of them are dour, some of them are goofy, some of them are funny… that’s why, when I saw the Kenosha, Wisconsin, police department’s cop-style version of the 12 Days of Christmas, I just had to share it.
It’s too amusing not to share, if only because they fully embrace all the stereotypes about coffee breaks, jelly doughnuts, and Barney Fife bullets, but add in real facts about how police work is often boring, unpleasant drudgery with lots of paperwork, meetings, night patrols, and (worst of all) talks to school kids. I’ve known some cops in my time (personally, not professionally) and they’ve always been nice guys out of the uniform, with some of them even being really funny. This comedic 12 Days of Copmas only proves it.
