Steffest is quite possibly the best mobile phone hacker in the world. To prepare for a presentation at MobileCampBrussels, he took the time to hack together a guitar made out of smartphones. That’s right, he took five mobile phones, taped them together, and did some ingenious coding to record the world’s coolest cover of Cracklin’ Rosie. Staggering that he got Windows OS, Android, and iPhone OS to all play nice together! Not only did they play nice, they made some beautiful music together!
Literally, the hard work was encoding the music software app in three different languages. The rest of it was duct tape, a piece of wood, and a battery-powered speaker to make up the base of the smartphone-based guitar. I’d imagine learning how to play the thing took a little time, too.
