April Fools’ Day means a few things for the savvy consumer. One of these things is Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim airs the modern day classic The Room for a discerning network audience. The other is, of course, pranks will be flaring up pretty much everywhere online. For example, Google has debuted its fake email product combining Gmail and motion-capture webcam technology, Google Gmail Motion. Gmail Motion is probably one of the best fake sites out there right now, with videos, illustrations, and even a complete manual on what movements do what action in Gmail!

Of course, Google isn’t the only big tech company getting in on the April Fools Day action. SlashGear has put together a round-up of online pranks to check out or avoid, depending on how you fall on that spectrum. I enjoy a good prank, but some of these things just irk me. I love fake products that don’t exist (because those can occasionally get so popular they develop into real products), but I don’t like fake news unless it’s blatantly fake.
